Talented Rangi Ruru singer Holly Evans (Year 12) has been accepted as a student ambassador with the NZ Opera.

Commencing in early March, the Ambassadors Programme provides opportunities for students to participate in and engage with different aspects of opera and the performing arts. Holly will also have the exclusive opportunity to attend NZ Opera dress rehearsals and ambassador-only events.

“I am really looking forward to getting the chance to experience everything the Programme has to offer,” said Holly. “I have been in awe of the performances NZ Opera have put on for a number of years, so to get the chance to see what goes on behind the scenes as well as promote NZ Opera to other students will be very beneficial and rewarding.”

Rangi Ruru Director of Music, Janet Kingsbury says this opportunity is wonderful recognition of the dedication and talent Holly demonstrates.

“Holly is a remarkable singer and has a passion for professional theatre-making. This opportunity will help no doubt help her pursue her passion and help develop leadership, communication, collaboration and organization skills within this environment,” said Mrs Kingsbury.
