Jayne Barclay at NZ Business Hall of Fame Induction
Every year, eight prominent New Zealanders are selected by the Young Enterprise Trust to be inducted into the NZ Business Hall of Fame – 4 living and 4 posthumous.
This year, Thomas J Edmonds, the well known Christchurch businessman who began the famous Edmonds “Sure to Rise” baking powder company was one of the chosen laureates. As well as being an astute businessman, he was also a wonderful philanthropist who supported organisations such as Red Cross and Plunket. He happens to be the great grandfather of Jacqui Griffith on our staff, and because of her connections with Young Enterprise which is run at Rangi Ruru, Jayne was invited, as one of our current Young Enterprise students, to present his biography.
Jayne is a member of the Year 13 BASICALLY company, which has successfully designed, produced and marketed their school branded underwear sets.
After an immense amount of hard work and perseverance, they have sold $10,000 worth of product to date and intend continuing the company in the future to help fund their university studies.
Jayne presented superbly at the ceremony in Auckland, and was a wonderful ambassador for Rangi Ruru.
Well done, Jayne and thank you!
