Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
Rangi Ruru Girls’ School operates a compulsory ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) policy. This means that every student will be expected to bring a digital device and charger, that is capable of connecting to a wireless network and browsing the internet. Visit BYOD to learn more and find out what support options are available through our IT Services team.
Getting Connected Sessions – Monday 21 January – Friday 25 January
In order to allow new students to get off to a seamless start we are running ‘Getting Connected’ sessions to set up their devices during the week before Term 1 starts for those new to Rangi Ruru in 2019. There will be two sessions a day at 10.30am and 2.30pm running for approximately 2 hours. The sessions will be in the Gibson Centre and there will be signs out giving directions.
During these sessions girls will have their devices joined to the Rangi Ruru student wireless network, set up their school Office 365/email accounts, download and install the Microsoft Office suite and be shown how to use the OneDrive online storage to backup their files. They will also run through a simple Digital Citizenship exercise, a precursor to a more complete course they will take part in during Term 1.
The sessions are for the girls and, while parents are welcome, they are not required to stay and can collect their daughters at the end of the session.
